This Chardonnay exhibits aromatics of lime and lemon peel with notes of jasmine, orange blossom and acacia. It is full bodied and rich while still having a crispness that gives it a nice balance on the palate.

Vineyard Notes
The 2021 Chardonnay is made from grapes at the Calhoun vineyard in Cedar Grove. This is high elevation vineyard 3500’ if there is a higher vineyard in El Dorado I don’t know of it. The alpine breezes flowing down off the Sierra Nevada cool these 3500’ elevation mountain vineyards and allow the grapes to mature slowly while retaining their natural acidity.
Production Notes
The grapes were sorted and pressed whole cluster. The fermentation was carried out in French oak barrels and left on the lees for a couple months. Malo-lactic fermentation was completed with a unique strain that does not produce diacetyl and remains more crisp and less buttery.
